Hello folks!

I'm
Jeroen Warmerdam from The
Netherlands and I'm 32 years old. Drumming is what I do for about 20 years or so. I developed a progressive basic style then that even till today you can recognize me by.

FAVOURITE  BANDS / SONGS / SOLOS

Rush was and still is a favourite band of mine, of course with influences from my dad. Always in the car he cranked up the volume when a record of theirs was on.... So Neil Peart has made a huge difference for me as a drummer now and then. Some licks, fills, flam's and so on I have integrated with my own style and mixed it a little. I must say that the most of my playing is mine but some things I've 'borrowed' from other drummers. There are some you know and maybe some you don't..... my idol is Mike Portnoy from the band DreamTheater. In my opinion he is the most versatile  drummer I know and that I like. And certainly the other members of the band are great too. His style is progressive in a good way, not too little, too busy, just right :)  I've made a drumkit that's inspired of his own, all made by myself except the shells of course, even with homemade octoban's!!

BIOGRAPHY

(back on the story guys) >>>
I've had a few bands at the time to learn to play with musicians.

At first there were popworkshopbands and later on more professional bands with paid (small-amount) gigs. In that time I've joined several bands to find out what music I'd liked and wanted to play. There was a not-drumming period (1/2 years) some times because of school/work and other things to do. But finally in 2005 I started drumming again (not done since 2002)  and practiced 3 months very hard to get the old form back. (ouch!)  Then I was introduced to a metal/hard rock-band Speedchaser. We've made a demo and did several gigs for about 3 years, but unfortunately the guitarist quitted, and mood swings and other things let me decide then that is was better to leave them....

Right after that I came in contact with Arno van Heerde the founder of Rockband BIZAR!

BACKGROUND

I believe I was 11/12 when I started with drumming on my dad's kit. The only downside at that time; the kit was about 1,5 hour travelling away for me. I used to go every Friday to the rehearsal-room, or a whole weekend, and stayed over at my uncle's. After done that fore some more years that's were I got the basics of (self-taught) drumming :)

My father also a drummer has taught me the basics of drumming when I was in my teens... the following step for me was to become a better drummer than my dad :) , and I think I've achieved that goal.

But seriously now, I'm crazy about rhythm, drums and drum kits>>> just to build a rhythm/beat to its full potential. When I was still at school I used to drive everybody almost insane with beats on the tables, chairs etc. My father and myself  included thought then that it was better to create the stuff on a actual drum kit then at school  : )

And now you'll know almost all there's to it.......:)
