BIOGRAPHY

QUEST (2004)

In this band Arno learned how to compose songs. Willem Ros (bass guitar and synth. pedal) composed baselines and Arno composed the guitarparts for e.g. "Terminator Attack", "Metal Queen" and "Keep on Rocking". Ruud van Veen was the drummer of Quest for a while. They both quit and after leaving Quest behind them, they decided to do it another way. In that period 'Bizar' was born.

SMALL PROJECTS (1997-2000)

Arno did a lot of self education e.g. solfege, scales, arpeggio's and took lessons from Amare Bilate (a Russian conductor of Music). He did some small projects. On stage Arno played a 15 minute guitarsolo of Eddie Van Halen. Eddie plays this solo in his concerts and you can see it e.g. on the video "Live without a Net". Later on Arno did some recordings in a studio and played acoustic gigs with choirs.

RED ALERT (1995 - 1997)

In this coverband, formed by Arno and some students (Ruud and Liam), Arno mainly played pop/rock songs. He was one of the solo/rhytmn guitarist. He did some nice gigs and had great fun. "Jump" from Van Halen and "More Than Words" from Extreme were some of his highlights!! He never forgot his Van Halen style solo on a blues piece. Luckily it was recorded, because he couldn't have been on this planet :-) In 2007 the band played a gig again as a support act of "Pater Moeskroen". Ruud and Liam (Chemisphere, see friends section) also played in this (reunion) band.

BACKGROUND

Arno's frst conscious encounter with music was Mozart. The harmony and melody of this kind of music gave Arno the feeling to fly without having to smoke a joint. When he was 10 years old Arno started to listen to the backgroundmusic of computergames (similar to polyphonic cell phone sound). This music inspired him to start playing the piano around the age of 15. He could copy those music-pieces by ear.

When Arno became 17 years old, he started to listen to Eddie van Halen (band: Van Halen). Because of Eddie's enormous guitar power, one of a kind solos and musical timing he was inspired to start playing the electric guitar. Around his 24th he became inspired by Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme). He liked his melodic hard funk lines and good technical soloing. After studying scales and arpeggio's for a year, it was time to compose own songs in Rockband "Bizar".
